Contestants attribute securing full college scholarships and life time careers specifically to their participation in this program.
This program builds successful young women by developing the following skills:
- Self Confidence
- Interview Technique
- Job Application and Resume
- Analytical Thinking
- Civic Awareness
- Poise and Grooming
There are many sponsorship opportunities starting as a Bronze Patron for as little as $100 up to $275 as sponsor of a Miss Contestant. And you may advertise in the program book for as little as $50.
The Miss Placentia Scholarship Program is proud to be celebrating its 32nd year in affiliation with the Miss America Organization; the largest scholarship federation for young women in the world! Last year the Miss Placentia Scholarship Program awarded over $11,000 to eleven exceptional young women in our community in order to further pursue their education at the university level. Miss Placentia was awarded $4,500. Our eleven teen contestants were awarded $2,500 in savings bonds, and Miss Teen was awarded a $700 savings bond. All of these academic scholarship awards are funded by tax-deductible donations from members of our community such as you. We are in hopes that we can count on your support this year.
This year’s Miss Placentia Scholarship Program will take place winter 2009 at Valencia High School’s auditorium. Placentia’s Outstanding Teen Program will take place earlier the same day at 2:00pm, also at the same location.
There are four ways in which one can support the program. They include becoming a Patron, Advertising in the program book, or Sponsoring either a “Miss” or “Teen” contestant. Also, for the first time offered this year, and only to former Miss Placentia titleholders, is the opportunity to consider becoming a very special and elite patron, called “Placentia’s Jewels”.
