Brief history of the Miss Placentia Scholarship Program

Our program has been crowning a Miss Placentia each year since 1934. We became associated with the Miss America Organization in 1976 and since that time we have awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to deserving young women. Miss Placentia, Miss Yorba Linda and Placentia's Outstanding Teen go on to compete for Miss California and California's Outstanding Teen, respectively.

Past Miss Placentias usually do very well at Miss California. Several have been in the top five. One has been Miss California, placing in the top 15 at Miss America. Placentia's Outstanding Teen 2007, Jordan Krinke, went on to be California's Outstanding Teen. A measure of the strength of our program is the fact that for the last three years running  Placentia's Outstanding Teen has won overall interview at state. Our purpose in this program is to help young women achieve their educational and professional goals.

What's New!

 Miss Placentia 2010, Jamie Gerhardt, & Mikayla Thornely, Placentia's Outstanding Teen are back from the Miss California Pageant where they competed strongly and represented our city with grace and poise. Mikayla was named in Top Ten. Check back in a few days for pictures. You can see them, the court, Miss Yorba Linda 2010, Sharanya Mukhopadhyay, and Yorba Linda's OST, Elizabeth Luper, at Concerts in the Park Thursdays 6:00 p.m. at Tri- City Park. Come join the fun meet the court and listen to great community music.

Congratulations to  Miss Placentia 2010, Jamie Gerhardt & Miss Yorba Linda 2010, Sharanya Mukhopadhyay. These young women were selected from 16 contestants on January 16th and will go on to compete for the title of Miss California this June. The remainder of the court is: First runner-up Sharon Kong, Second Stephanie Song, Third Erin Monet Galvan, and Fourth Dee Dee Wang. Placentia & Yorba Linda's Outstanding Teens  Crowned

Congratulations to Placentia's Outstanding Teen 2010, Mikayla Thornley and Yorba Linda's Outstanding Teen, Elizabeth Luper. They were selected from 13 contestants on January 16th and went on to compete for the title of California's Outstanding Teen this June. Congratulations to Mikayla who made Top Ten.  The remainder of the court is: First runner-up Marlee Fleckenstein, Second Breanna Burros, Third Kelsey Westergaard, and Fourth Mariah Massey.
